I was really stressing how to teach it because I wanted the kids to feel/express the reverence of it, but not be bored. I found your site and decided to start my new calling with this ambitious approach, having faith that they could do it. It's been exactly what I hoped for. The kids are enthusiastic and really "feel"this song. It went so well! When I showed them the sign for "crucified" the room went completely silent. I was so worried that the kids would be resilient since this is the first time we've ever tried ASL, but they were attentive and engaged the whole time. Thank you for your hard work putting this together! Because of that I'm not going to sign that word when I teach it to my Primary. Also, the word "fully" in this hymn doesn't mean full like I've eaten so much and now I'm full. A synonym in this case would be "thoroughly." This sign is also used in the LDS.org ASL video of the hymn.

I made a video for the first verse and chorus found here: http://kamisprimarymusicideas.blogspot.com/2014/02/i-stand-all-amazed-sign-language.html

I also added a link to this post for others to reference, if that's OK with you. :)Kamihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04451063808722585942noreply@blogger.com
