Hello, is _______ there?

Bring your cell phone. Have someone else already set up with their cell phone and a script. (Make sure your ringer is up. Also bring phone chargers. Just trying to think of everything here.)  :)

INTRO: One of the greatest things that you can ever learn is that you can talk to Heavenly Father. You can always turn to him in prayer and he will listen to you, and answer your prayer.

(Phone rings, grab bag and dig to find it. Answer.)

CALLER:
Hello! How are you? What are you doing? Is _____________there?
Can I talk to him/her?

(pass the phone to that person)

CALLER:
Hello_______________! How are you? Are you having fun singing today? Will you tell Sister Music Leader to have everyone sing Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes? Thank you, goodbye.

(child reports to Primary what the Caller said)
MUSIC LEADER:
Yes! We can sing that song!

(Get the phone from the child, and give it to someone else to hold it for you, ask them to stand up if it starts to ring again.)

(Near the end of the song the phone starts to ring and the child holding it stands up. The child answers the phone.)

CALLER:
Hello! Is __________there?

Can I please speak to him/her?

(pass the phone to that person)

CALLER:

Hello! Will you ask Sister Willis to have everyone sing "Row Row Row Your Boat"? OK, thank you, goodbye.
(child asks)

MUSIC LEADER:
No. We shouldn't sing that song in Primary, it isn't a Primary song. We need to sing a primary song. How about if we sing ______________________, instead?

(Get the phone from the child, ask someone else to hold it for you, ask them to stand up if it starts to ring.)

SING: _________________________

(toward the end of the song the phone starts ringing...)

CALLER:
Hello! How are you?  Is ________________ there?

Can I talk to him/her? 

(give phone to person)

CALLER:

Hi! Will you ask Sister Music Leader if we can sing the closing song now? Thank you, goodbye.

(child asks)

MUSIC LEADER:
We're going to sing  _______________ for the closing song today. But it isn't time to go yet so we will have to wait. Let's sing ____________________ now instead.

(Get the phone from the child, ask someone else to hold it for you, ask them to stand up if it starts to ring.)

SING: ______________________

(toward the end of the song the phone starts ringing...)

CALLER:
Hello! Is___________there? Can I please speak to him/her?

(give phone to person)

CALLER:

Hello! Will you ask Sister Music Leader if we can sing your favorite primary song? You can decide what song it is. Thank you, goodbye.

(child reports to Primary)

MUSIC LEADER:
You get to decide what we sing! All of the Primary songs are good. What do you think we should sing?

MUSIC LEADER:
Talking on the phone is kind of like Praying. Heavenly Father will hear and answer our prayers, but we have to tell him what we need. There are different kinds of answers he can give us. Sometimes he will say, "Yes." But not always, and sometimes the answer is "No." Sometimes we have to wait to get our prayer answered, and sometimes Heavenly Father will want us to decide for ourselves. He will always help us, but we have to listen for his answer. I know this is true. Let's sing "A Child's Prayer" all the way through. It teaches us important lessons about praying.
