My FLIPCHART for I Will Follow God's Plan
Some day I'd like to upload my flip charts. Maybe. When I have more time (haha, time, what's that?). Until then, here's picture of what I drew for I Will Follow God's Plan:
Oh yeah. The last paper is where we did actions. Yep, good times in Primary!

THE PLAN:
Tape up a sign that says “Name That Primary Song About LOVE!”
JR:
Pass a heart around - when the piano stops, that child gets to come up and pick a piece of a heart puzzle with a song # on the back. Pianist plays a few notes of the song. Child tries to guess what song it is. Sing that song. Tape the piece on the posterboard.
SR:
Pass around 2 hearts. Two kids come up. I pick a heart puzzle piece. Pianist plays a few notes. Whoever knows the song first, rings the bell. Winner gets to tape up the piece on the heart. Sing that song.
*Every time “love” is said, either sit or stand
----- ----- ----- ----- ---- -----
EXTRA TIME:
After the heart puzzle is all put together;
JR: pass out printed papers for the kids to color and write notes on to the Bishopric
SR: pass out blank papers for the kids to draw and write notes on to the Bishopric
----- ----- ----- ----- ---- -----
ADD’L INFO:
The heart puzzle is a poster board on which a big outline of a heart is drawn on it (the pieces of the heart have the songs on them) - at the end of Primary write “WE Love Our Bishop!” on the heart. Give it to him after church for him to hang in his office.
*Make 2 - one for JR and one for SR.
----- ----- ----- ----- ---- ----
PREPARE:
- 2 posterboard heart-outline cards
- 2 sets of heart puzzle pieces
- write songs #s on the back of the puzzle pieces
- list of songs to song
- bell
- flip charts for the songs on the list
- printed color sheets
- blank paper
- crayons

Is This Person a Child of God?
Write:
* Psalms 82:6 "All of you are children of the most High" on the board.
Pass around a mirror. Ask questions about who is in the mirror. “Is this person talented? Loving? Smart? Friendly? Kind? Intelligent? Nice? Happy?”. ----> End on "...and is this person a child of God?" (Yes)
Hold mirror in front of individual children and ask, "Do you see a child of God?" (Yes. Yes. Yes. …)
Read the scripture and explain that we are all children of God.

HERE IS MY:

After the introduction I then went right into my Child of God puzzle posters to learn the song.

Short Songs
You know those cute short songs you never get to sing? I took a bunch of them and made them a whole singing time.
| I Am Like a Star flip chart |
SHORT SONGS IN THE CHILDREN'S HYMNBOOK (links go to my flip charts):
- If With All Your Hearts 15
- Listen, Listen 107
- Kindness Begins With Me 145
- A Special Gift is Kindness 145

- I Am Like a Star 163
- A Happy Helper 197
- Sing a Song (round) 253

I did a tic-tac-toe game to add an interactive element to it. Once we learned the song (doesn't take long, just one or two times through) I pick either a boy or a girl to pick a spot on the Tic-Tac-Toe board. The spot had a paper with a # written on the back. We sang the song that # of times then moved on to the next song.

PREP:
- chalk (to draw the tic-tac-toe board
- numbered paper squares
- flip charts (print the title on one side, the lyrics on the backside to save paper)
- pianist who can do all of this (I am lucky, I know it, and I thank the Heavens daily)
