Melting Birthday Candles

Have tall strips of fabric with a flame on the top. Cut out a circle for a face in the frame. Birthday children get to put their faces in the flame and they get to "melt" as the birthday song is sung to them.

Sing Here We Are Together once a month for birthdays.

Oh here are the birthdays, the birthdays, the birthdays
Oh here are the birthdays for *January;
There's Abby and Ben and Charlie and Dylan....
...and Elsie and Farrah and Greg and Henry,
Oh here are the birthdays for January!


*Stretch "foooor" on the short months. Fooooor March. April. May, June, July...
*Rather than changing the months, just sing, "here are the birthdays for THE MONTH". Or, "here are the birthdays for "OUR PRIMARY".

Birthday Drum

In our Primary we do a Birthday Drum. The birthday child gets to drum, while the rest of the Primary counts, how old they are turning. (It's an oatmeal or a formula can wrapped in birthday wrapping paper). The kids love it!
