Halloween Candy Activity

This is the easy song-review activity I'm doing the day after Halloween:

  1. Have a bowl of various Halloween Candy.
  2. Give the Pianist a pre-determined list of songs.
  3. Invite a child to choose a piece of candy. The candy they choose will determine the next song. (So they think... but really, you're just going down the song list).
  4. Sing.
  5. Repeat.

*Beware of peanut allergies. I did not pick any peanut candies to be in the bowl....
*Be sure that the kids are aware that they do not actually get to eat the candy... that it's just for choosing songs...

Put velcro on a pumpkin in spots for eyes, nose and mouth.
Cut out eyes, nose and mouth pieces. Put song names on them.
  1. Pick a child to choose an item to put on the pumpkin.
  2. Sing the song on that item
  3. Repeat.

Pick a Pumpkin From the Patch

VERSION 1 - PLAIN OL' PUMPKINS:
*For singing lots of songs, to review or whatnot.

  • Tape up paper pumpkins* and call it a pumpkin patch.
  • Choose a child to pick a pumpkin from the patch. The pumpkin has a song to sing on the back.

*or, tape song names on real pumpkins. Or those cute baby pumpkins.

VERSION 2 - JACK-O-LANTERNS:
*For singing the same song over and over again:
  • Put faces on pumpkins to make the jack-o-lanterns. Sing the song the way the pumpkin's face depicts.
